Egyptian Arabic Vocab Clinic ReviewI have lived in Cairo for 3 years now and my husband and I have both used this software extensively. Where most language learning books simply transliterate words phonetically, this software actually lets you HEAR the words spoken by an Egyptian as you see them on the screen (written in Arabic, in English transliteration, and the English equivalent). The words are categorized and you can listen to each word as many times as you like. It even has a function where you can record yourself saying the word and compare it to the Egyptian's voice (it shows the wavelength pattern of the words, too). As a housewife, I have appreciated the ability to print out vocab sheets as needed for study. My husband used this software and the others (there are some for Modern Standard Arabic, too) almost daily in his first years of intensive study.
