For example, the one spoken in Egypt is Egyptian Arabic, the one spoken in Morocco is Moroccan Arabic, and so on.The one taught on this program is Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). This is the "literary" Arabic. The only people who speak it are those delivering formal speeches on television. If you go to an Arabic-speaking country and try to use what it teaches, you won't understand the locals and although they'll understand you, you'll sound silly to them.
Now, there ARE valid reasons for learning MSA. It all depends on why you want to learn Arabic and how you want to use what you learn. If you're planning a trip to an Arabic-speaking country and want to learn Arabic for the purpose of interacting with locals, you may want to look for instructional materials that apply to that specific country's dialect instead of those that teach MSA. But if you can't find instructional materials in the dialect of the country you are visiting, then you'll still be able to make yourself understood using MSA.
