Quite simply, Arabic does not translate well to the computer keyboard (reaching for the "?" and "~" keys to type important Arabic letters does not come naturally!). With this book, however, you'll be able to understand how to smoothly type complex words and sentences without error.
The book introduces each letter in the Arabic alphabet with methodical precision - beginning first with the most commonly used letters in the alphabet, then to the less common and obscure letters, and finally to the separate sections for vowels, numbers and special characters, punctuation marks, and mathematical symbols. Doing so makes it much easier to quickly understand the typing patterns of the language.
Aside from the superb strategic placement of each letter in the book, the explanations that accompany the introduction of every letter are simultaneously informative and concise. The book explains simply and clearly where each Arabic letter and symbol is on the keyboard. One of the best aspects of the book is its prose - the writing is clear and accessible, particularly to someone like myself without an extremely strong familiarity with the Arabic language. It makes for a very quick read, and certainly something that the casual reader and/or Arabic-curious-typist could master on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
Each section of the book comes with plenty of repetition and practice lessons. By following the book's instructions and performing all the review sessions from each lesson, I was able to master this complex language on a keyboard far more quickly than I had expected. The repetition, while it may seem tedious, offers helpful reinforcement.
Finally, the book is practical. Its lessons are equally applicable in the school/academic context, as well as the professional workplace.
